Fri Nov 08 11:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Fog Disrupts Domestic Flights in Nepal, Stranding Tourists
Kathmandu, Nepal – Adverse weather conditions, particularly dense fog, have disrupted domestic flights to and from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), stranding numerous tourists.
According to TIA General Manager Jagannath Niroula, flights to Lukla and other remote areas have been affected due to poor visibility. Only Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) flights are currently operating at the Kathmandu airport, with Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flights grounded.
While flights to the Terai region remain operational, most flights to remote destinations have been canceled. International flights are operating normally.
The TIA office reports that a significant number of tourists are stranded, unable to reach their intended destinations.
