The meeting was arranged following a request from the parents, who had written to Mr. Shah on October 22nd seeking his guidance and support in their pursuit of justice.
The deceased doctor’s parents had initially hoped to meet with Mr. Shah during his visit to Kolkata on October 27th, but the meeting did not materialize. However, the father expressed confidence in the upcoming meeting, declining to provide further details about the date or location.
The murder of the on-duty doctor had sparked widespread outrage and protests from junior doctors across West Bengal, who demanded justice for their colleague and improvements in hospital security.
