**AMARAVATI, November 6, 2024:** Seven officers from the Andhra Pradesh Police Service (APPS) have been promoted to the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre. The promotions were announced in a government order (G.O. Rt. No. 1901) issued by Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad on Tuesday.
The President of India approved the appointments, filling vacancies determined by the Government of India for the Select List years 2022 and 2023. All seven officers will be allocated to the Andhra Pradesh cadre.
The promoted officers are: B. Umamaheswar, J. Rama Mohana Rao, N. Sridevi Rao, E.G. Ashok Kumar, and A. Rama Devi (from the 2022 list), and K.G.V. Saritha and K. Chakravarthi (from the 2023 list).
Additionally, S.V. Sreedhar Rao was included in the provisional select list, pending the state government’s issuance of an integrity certificate as per the IPS (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955.
