**Mexico City, November 4, 2024** – The struggling Querétaro Gallos Blancos will face a tough test on Tuesday, November 5th, as they travel to Ciudad Universitaria to take on the Pumas de la UNAM in a crucial match for both teams. Kick-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM.

Querétaro, currently languishing in last place, desperately need a win to salvage something from what has been a disappointing season. They have only managed nine points in 15 games, a far cry from their Play-In qualification in the previous season.

Gallos coach Mauro Gerk acknowledged the team’s struggles and expressed his willingness to step down if the poor performance is attributed to his leadership. “The idea was to finish the season as best as possible to give us peace of mind for the next tournament, but we are not doing it,” he said. “If in the end we see that the problem is me, I will have no problem stepping aside and remaining calm with what I have given to the institution.”

Meanwhile, Pumas are enjoying a much more successful season, holding onto a direct qualification spot for the playoffs. Currently sixth with 25 points, they are in a tight race for the top spots and desperately need three points to secure their place.

The historical record between the two teams favors Pumas slightly, with 13 wins to Querétaro’s 12 in 37 meetings. However, Gallos have a poor record at C.U., with 10 losses and just two victories, making it a difficult venue for the visitors.

Following their encounter with Pumas, Querétaro will conclude their season at home against Santos Laguna on Friday, November 8th.
