**New Delhi, December 2, 2024:** Skoda India has launched its latest offering, the compact SUV Kylaq, with a starting price of INR 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). With this aggressive pricing, Skoda aims to disrupt the competitive segment, challenging the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia India, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Fronx, and Tata Motors.
The new Kylaq boasts a sporty design, featuring 17-inch alloy wheels and a choice of six color options including the new Olive Gold. The SUV’s interior is equally impressive, with premium features like dual digital screens, powered driver seat, leatherette upholstery, connected car technology, ambient lighting, and a Canton 6-speaker sound system.
Safety features across all variants include six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, Isofix child seat mounting points, headrests, and three-point seat belts.
The Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-liter TSi petrol engine generating 114bhp and 178Nm torque, coupled with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Skoda is yet to announce the fuel efficiency figures, but it is expected to be revealed soon.
The Kylaq is crucial for Skoda as it marks their return to the sub-INR 10 lakh segment after a decade. The company anticipates strong sales, particularly in Tier-3 and Tier-4 cities, with deliveries commencing on January 27, 2025.
The new Skoda Kylaq will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility 2025 event in January. Bookings for the vehicle opened today, December 2, 2024.
