**New Delhi:** The Supreme Court has dismissed the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) plea seeking to revive a case against actress Rhea Chakraborty in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The CBI had appealed against a Bombay High Court order that quashed the FIR against Chakraborty.
The apex court, while upholding the High Court’s decision, stated that there was no evidence to suggest that Chakraborty had committed any offense. The decision brings an end to the long-running legal battle surrounding the actor’s death.
Chakraborty was accused of abetting Rajput’s suicide and of financial irregularities. However, the CBI investigation did not find any evidence to support these allegations.
The Supreme Court’s judgment brings closure to a case that had captivated the nation for over three years.
