Tue Nov 05 13:34:46 UTC 2024: ## BMW Unveils F 450 GS Concept, a Potential Rival to the KTM 390 ADV R

**Bengaluru, India:** BMW Motorrad has just unveiled a concept for a new adventure bike, the F 450 GS, which is set to shake up the sub-500cc motorcycle segment. This new bike could become a direct competitor to the recently released KTM 390 ADV R.

The F 450 GS is powered by a brand new 450cc twin-cylinder engine, delivering 47 horsepower and housed within a lightweight frame constructed with materials like magnesium. The concept boasts a sleek design with a headlight reminiscent of the popular R 1300 GS, solidifying its lineage within the BMW GS family.

The motorcycle boasts a host of high-tech features, including a 6.5-inch TFT display, cornering ABS, riding modes, traction control, and Bluetooth connectivity. It also features fully adjustable front suspension and a preload adjustable rear monoshock. The concept rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, with the possibility of cast aluminum wheels for the production model.

Weighing in at a mere 175kg, the F 450 GS is positioned as a nimble and agile adventure bike. While the bike is currently in the concept stage, BMW has hinted at a possible production release next year. This news is sure to excite the motorcycle community as it fills a gap in BMW’s lineup between the G 310 GS and the F 800/F 900 models.

Speculation suggests that the BMW F 450 GS could be manufactured by TVS at their plant in Hosur, near Bengaluru. This would likely result in competitive pricing for the bike, making it even more attractive to riders.

With the possibility of this 450cc twin-cylinder platform expanding into other segments, including supersport, streetfighter, or even modern classic models, the future looks bright and exciting for BMW. We can’t wait to see how this new concept evolves and potentially revolutionizes the motorcycle market.
