Tue Nov 05 12:19:26 UTC 2024: ## KTM Unveils the All-New 390 Adventure R at EICMA 2024

KTM has officially unveiled its highly anticipated 390 Adventure R at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The new model is a completely redesigned adventure bike built from the ground up with an emphasis on off-road performance.

The 390 Adventure R boasts a bold, Dakar-inspired design with a tall windscreen, vertically stacked headlights, and a large front mudguard. Its 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel are both spoked and wrapped in knobby tires, while adjustable suspension provides 230mm of travel for tackling rough terrain.

Under the hood, the 390 Adventure R retains the 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine found in the 390 Duke, producing 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a quick-shifter.

In terms of features, the bike includes a full-color 5-inch TFT screen, ride-by-wire, and electronic rider aids like switchable ABS, switchable traction control, and Bluetooth connectivity.

While the design is largely focused on off-road performance, a curious choice has been made with an underbelly exhaust, rather than the usual upswept exhaust common in adventure motorcycles. This may be a concern for some riders, particularly in water crossings.

The KTM 390 Adventure R is expected to be launched in India in early 2025, with an estimated price slightly below Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a direct competitor to the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the BMW G 310 GS, and like those models, will be manufactured in India.
