Tue Nov 05 13:53:36 UTC 2024: ## Verstappen’s Rain Masterclass Earns Praise from F1 Legends in Brazil
**Sao Paulo, Brazil:** Max Verstappen’s stunning victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where he stormed from 17th on the grid to take the checkered flag in challenging wet conditions, has drawn praise from Formula 1 legends Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
The Dutchman’s masterful performance puts him on the verge of his fourth consecutive world championship title.
Despite a contentious rivalry in 2021, Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, took to social media to commend Verstappen’s display, writing: “Amazing drive, congrats,” accompanied by a fist-bump emoji.
Alonso, a two-time world champion, echoed Hamilton’s sentiment with a near-identical message: “Fantastic drive, congrats.”
Verstappen’s triumph has earned him admiration from across the paddock. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc acknowledged the Red Bull driver’s exceptional skill, stating: “We knew the Red Bull would be good today, but honestly I think today it was more Max that made the difference than the car.”
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner also highlighted Verstappen’s extraordinary performance, saying: “In those conditions the drivers’ skill really comes to a fore and he was in a league of his own… It was an incredible performance from him, one of his very best.”
With this victory, Verstappen is poised to join an elite group of drivers with four or more world championships, including Michael Schumacher, Juan Manuel Fangio, Sebastian Vettel, and Alain Prost. His incredible performance in Brazil has further solidified his status as one of the greatest drivers of his generation.
