**Barcelona, Spain** – The first phase of the selection process for new coaches at FC Barcelona’s prestigious academy, Barça Academy, concluded last week at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Out of nearly 250 applications, over 85 candidates participated in the rigorous selection process, which included theoretical and practical components.
The day began with a welcome from Sergi Barjuan, the project’s sports director, followed by a presentation outlining the Barça Academy’s methodology and philosophy. Candidates then spent the afternoon working directly with young players from Barça Escola Barcelona, demonstrating their coaching skills.
This initial selection phase is the first step in a competitive process that will determine which candidates will be chosen to join the Barça Academy’s global network. The academy boasts over 150 staff members dedicated to spreading the Barça methodology across 29 academies worldwide, as well as various elite centers in Catalonia. The selected coaches will have the opportunity to work with young players and contribute to the development of future stars.
