**DINDIGUL, November 4, 2024:** A tragic accident claimed the lives of a 35-year-old man and his 9-year-old son in Dindigul on Monday.
Gopikrishnan, a tailor, and his son, Karthik Roshan, were found dead in their home on Kaliamman Koil Street. Preliminary investigations reveal that the accident occurred when a support rod from their steel cot, lacking bolts, fell on them while they were sleeping. The rod struck both Gopikrishnan and Karthik in the neck, leading to their deaths.
Gopikrishnan’s wife, Lokeswari, a nurse at Natham Government Hospital, discovered the bodies when she went to their room on the first floor. The younger son, Yashwant, was sleeping with his mother on the ground floor.
The bodies were sent to the Government Hospital for post-mortem. A senior police officer stated that a thorough investigation would be conducted following the release of the post-mortem report.
