**Darbhanga, Bihar:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Darbhanga on November 13th, the same day as the Bihar by-elections, to lay the foundation stone for the new AIIMS. This was confirmed by Sanjay Sarawagi, the MLA of Darbhanga Nagar.
The AIIMS, estimated to cost ₹1261 crores, will be built on 188 acres of land provided by the Bihar government. Construction is expected to be completed within three years.
This will be Bihar’s second AIIMS and aims to provide high-quality medical education and healthcare services to a large population at an affordable cost. HSCC India Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NBCC LTD, has been entrusted with the construction.
The event is likely to see the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The AIIMS is expected to be a state-of-the-art healthcare facility.
