**Sydney, Australia:** Australia kicked off their ODI series against Pakistan with a thrilling 2-wicket victory in the first match at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday. The match was a nail-biter, with Australia needing to score 204 runs for victory.

The Pakistani bowlers made early inroads into the Australian batting lineup, taking early wickets of Matthew Short and Aaron Finch. However, solid contributions from Steve Smith (44 runs) and Josh Inglis (49 runs) kept Australia in the hunt.
