A tragic bus accident occurred near Marchula in Almora district, resulting in the deaths of at least 38 people and leaving many injured. The bus, carrying over 55 passengers despite having a capacity of 40, veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.

While some passengers managed to escape the wreckage, many were trapped inside. The injured alerted rescuers, leading to immediate search and rescue efforts. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been dispatched to the site.

The death toll is expected to rise as rescue operations continue. The injured are being transported to nearby hospitals.
