**Mumbai, India** – Rohit Shetty’s latest action blockbuster, Singham Again, has continued its impressive box office run, crossing the Rs 85 crore mark in just two days. The film, which stars Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, opened to strong reviews and has been drawing in crowds over the Diwali weekend.
The film’s success is attributed to its star-studded cast, high-octane action sequences, and a special appearance by Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey. Singham Again earned Rs 43.5 crore on its opening day (Friday) and added another Rs 41.5 crore on Saturday, according to early estimates. With the festive weekend and Sunday figures, the film is predicted to easily cross the Rs 100 crore mark in its opening weekend.
Singham Again is locked in a box office clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, another major release during the Diwali weekend. While Singham Again has taken a strong lead, it has also benefitted from a larger number of screens allocated compared to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Singham Again is currently showing in 5723 screens across the country, compared to 4294 for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
The makers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 have registered a complaint with the Competition Commission of India, claiming unfair play, and it has been reported that the film might receive some late-night show slots.
Singham Again has seen an average occupancy of 60.40 per cent on Saturday, with the highest footfall at night shows. Jaipur has recorded the highest occupancy at 83.5 per cent, followed by Mumbai at 73.75 per cent and Lucknow at 73.5 per cent.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran continues its box office success, having grossed over Rs 40.5 crore in its first three days. This biopic of Major Mukund Varadarajan has solidified Sivakarthikeyan’s position as a top-tier star in Tamil cinema, with particular praise going to Sai Pallavi’s performance.
