**Mumbai, India:** India has taken a commanding lead in the third and final Test match against New Zealand in Mumbai, with the visitors on the brink of defeat after a dominant day two.

India, chasing a target of 146 runs, ended the day at 92/6, needing just 55 more runs for victory. Rishabh Pant, who was the standout performer for India, notched up a crucial half-century, scoring 53 runs off 49 balls.

Earlier, New Zealand’s second innings folded for a paltry 174 runs, giving India a crucial 146-run lead. The Kiwis, who resumed their innings at 127/5, lost their remaining wickets rapidly, with India’s spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja (5 wickets) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3 wickets) running riot.

Jadeja, who claimed a five-wicket haul in the first innings, continued his dominant form, taking four wickets in the second innings. Ashwin, who was wicketless in the first innings, also made his presence felt with three wickets.

New Zealand’s batting woes continued, with none of the batsmen managing to score a substantial score. Will Young top-scored with 51 runs, while Glenn Phillips (26), Devon Conway (22), Daryl Mitchell (21) and Matt Henry (10) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures.

The match will resume on Sunday morning, with India looking to wrap up the victory and secure a series win. New Zealand, on the other hand, will need a miracle to salvage the match.
