**Theni, November 2, 2024:** A 55-year-old fish vendor, Zahir Hussain, was found murdered in his home in Muthukrishnapuram near Andipatti, Theni district, on Saturday. Police believe the murder stemmed from a dispute over profits from Deepavali festival sales with another fish vendor.
According to police, Zahir Hussain had been living in Jambuliputhur Road and selling fish on the Vaigai Dam Road. On Friday night, he was allegedly drinking with the suspect at his residence when a verbal argument escalated into a physical fight. The suspect is said to have stabbed Zahir Hussain with a knife, leading to his death.
The suspect, who fled the scene after the attack, has been apprehended by the Andipatti Police Inspector Saravanakumar and his team. The weapon used in the crime was also recovered.
