Actor Billy Zane has undergone a remarkable transformation to portray the late Hollywood legend Marlon Brando in the upcoming biopic “Waltzing with Brando.” Zane, known for his role in “Titanic,” appears as a spitting image of Brando’s iconic Don Vito Corleone from “The Godfather,” sporting a black tuxedo, white button-up, cufflinks, and a rose pinned to his jacket. His gray hair is styled back, and he even sports a mustache, creating an uncanny resemblance to the legendary actor.
“Waltzing with Brando,” directed by Bill Fishman and based on Bernard Judge’s 2011 memoir, focuses on Brando’s life in the 1970s, a period marked by his starring roles in films like “Last Tango in Paris” and “The Godfather.” Zane is also serving as a producer on the film, which was primarily filmed in Tetiaroa, the South Pacific atoll where Brando and Judge collaborated on sustainable architecture and practices.
The biopic tells the story of Judge’s unexpected life on the remote atoll with Brando, a unique perspective on the actor who was considered one of the greatest American film actors of the 20th century. Zane is scheduled to attend the world premiere of “Waltzing with Brando” at Italy’s Torino Film Festival.
