**North Sound (Antigua), November 1 (AP):** The West Indies, led by a brilliant 94-run knock from Evin Lewis, defeated England by eight wickets in a rain-affected first ODI on Wednesday.

Lewis, hitting eight sixes in his 69-ball innings, anchored the West Indies’ chase, guiding them to victory despite a revised target of 157 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. The hosts were 13 runs away from the target when Lewis was dismissed.

Earlier, Liam Livingstone, making his captaincy debut, top-scored for England with 48 runs as they were bowled out for 209 in 45.1 overs.

The West Indies were well on track to reach their target, scoring 81 runs without loss before rain interrupted play. At that point, they were 48 runs ahead under the Duckworth-Lewis system. Despite a further 20 overs of play, Lewis and Brandon King (30) put on a 118-run opening partnership, ensuring a comfortable victory for the West Indies.
