Sun Nov 03 08:06:25 UTC 2024: ## Kiwis Shock India, Blundell Highlights “5-0” Target & Indian Disbelief

**MUMBAI, INDIA** – After a dominant 2-0 whitewash of Bangladesh, Team India was expected to similarly sweep New Zealand in the recently concluded Test series. However, the Kiwis defied expectations, securing a resounding 2-0 victory and achieving a historic feat.

New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Blundell, speaking about the series, revealed that Indian broadcasters had boldly predicted a 5-0 victory for their team, suggesting a sense of overconfidence. “When we first arrived, I think there was a slogan on their TV about having a 5-0 intention for their home summer, or something like that,” Blundell said. “I’m sure they probably underestimated us after the Sri Lankan series, but I’m quite surprised at how they’ve played.”

Blundell highlighted the impact of New Zealand’s performance on the Indian team: “But I think what we’ve achieved, and the way we’ve competed, has been fantastic. Our team has played really good cricket, and they [India] have been surprised by it. There’s no doubt India is one of the best teams in the world, so I think they’re a little bit shocked at what’s happened.”

This series marks the first time New Zealand has won a Test series in India. The final Test, starting on November 1st at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, promises to be an exciting encounter as both teams prepare for the crucial match.
