**Los Angeles, CA -** Amazon MGM Studios is searching for the next Lara Croft, with a coveted role in the highly anticipated *Tomb Raider* series adaptation, created by *Fleabag* Emmy winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge, drawing interest from a range of prominent young actresses.

Sources reveal that *Game of Thrones* star Sophie Turner and *Bohemian Rhapsody* actress Lucy Boynton are among those set to test for the iconic role, previously played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander in the film franchise. While other actresses are reportedly on the wishlist, including Emma Corrin and Mackenzie Davis, it remains unclear who else will be auditioning.

The combination of a beloved action heroine and a top female creator has fueled excitement for the role, with actresses in their late 20s and 30s vying for the opportunity.

Waller-Bridge, who described the series as “epic” and “globe-trotting”, has been a driving force behind the project, expressing her deep affection for Lara Croft: “Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all,” she said in May.

*Tomb Raider* is scheduled to be produced by Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios, with Waller-Bridge, Jenny Robins, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Scheel, and Legendary Television all attached as executive producers.

Turner, currently starring in Prime Video’s *Haven*, is a known quantity for the streaming service, while Boynton is set to headline the upcoming British historical miniseries *A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story*.

The casting process is shrouded in secrecy, with Amazon MGM Studios declining to comment on the contenders. The highly competitive search underscores the immense anticipation surrounding this adaptation of the popular video game franchise.
