**Hyderabad, November 2, 2024:** Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Hyderabad on November 5th to show his support for the ongoing caste and economic survey in Telangana. The survey is being conducted to gather data for future reservation policies in local body elections.
According to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Mr. Gandhi will participate in a meeting at the Gandhi Ideology Centre in Bowenpally. The TPCC is inviting stakeholders to provide feedback on the survey. All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge has also been invited to the meeting.
Mr. Gandhi’s presence is seen as a significant endorsement of the survey, which is aimed at ensuring fair representation for all sections of society. The Congress party, a strong advocate for a caste census nationwide, believes that wealth distribution should be based on population ratios, ensuring that marginalized communities benefit.
The November 5th meeting was initiated by TPCC Chief A Revanth Reddy to gather opinions from intellectuals, student leaders, and caste association leaders. Congress workers are encouraged to participate in the ongoing survey.
Meanwhile, TPCC leaders have dismissed comments by BJP Legislative Party (BJPLP) leader Maheshwar Reddy about the term of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. They view these comments as fantastical and urge Mr. Maheshwar Reddy to understand his own position within the BJP.
