**Mumbai, India:** India took a significant lead in the third and final Test match against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After bundling out the Kiwis for 235 in their first innings, India, despite losing 4 wickets, scored 263 runs in their first innings, securing a crucial 28-run lead.

The day began with New Zealand’s first innings ending with Ravichandran Ashwin claiming the final wicket of Rachin Ravindra. However, the momentum shifted quickly as India’s batting struggled early on. Shubman Gill, who was looking solid, fell short of a century, dismissed for 90 by Ajaz Patel.

India’s middle order crumbled, losing quick wickets, including those of Rishabh Pant (60), Sarfaraz Khan (0), and Ravindra Jadeja (14). Washington Sundar provided some resistance, but the innings ultimately ended with Ashwin dismissed for 6.

New Zealand, needing to make a strong comeback, lost their first wicket early in their second innings. Akashdeep Singh bowled Tom Latham for a duck, but the Kiwis managed to reach 44/3 before the end of the day.

The second day saw India’s bowlers making early breakthroughs, but New Zealand’s batting line-up showed resilience, with Devon Conway (22) and Will Young (8) holding the fort at stumps.

While India’s lead is comfortable, the match is far from over. New Zealand will be looking to fight back in their second innings and put pressure on India. The remaining days of the test promise to be exciting as both teams battle for victory.
