Sat Nov 02 14:05:04 UTC 2024: ## West Indies Smash England in Rain-Hit ODI

**Antigua, July 13th:** Evin Lewis’s blistering 94 not out powered West Indies to an emphatic eight-wicket victory over England in a rain-affected one-day international at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Thursday.

Lewis, fresh off a century against Sri Lanka just days earlier, continued his scintillating form, dismantling the English attack with five fours and eight massive sixes. He reached his 94 off just 69 balls, guiding West Indies to a comfortable chase of 157 in 35 overs, a revised target after a rain delay.

Opening partner Brandon King (30) provided solid support, the duo putting on a 118-run stand. Though Lewis narrowly missed out on a sixth ODI century, his dominant innings propelled West Indies home with 55 balls to spare.

Earlier, England, fielding four ODI debutants, were bowled out for 209 in the 46th over. Captain Liam Livingstone top-scored with 48, while Sam Curran contributed 37. Gudakesh Motie shone for West Indies, claiming 4-41, while Jayden Seales’s 2-22 proved crucial in dismantling the England openers.

The victory marks a strong start for West Indies, coming just days after their win against Sri Lanka. The series continues on Saturday at the same venue, with the final clash set for Barbados next Wednesday. The two teams will then face off in a five-match Twenty20 International series.
