Fri Nov 01 14:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Regina Opens Up About Bollywood Challenges: “Language is a Barrier”

Mumbai: Actress Regina, who made her Bollywood debut in 2019 with “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga”, spoke candidly about the challenges faced by South Indian actors venturing into Bollywood.

In a recent interview, Regina highlighted the language barrier as a significant hurdle. She stated that while South Indian film industries are more welcoming, Bollywood producers are hesitant to cast actors who aren’t fluent in Hindi.

“Many South Indian actors who come to Bollywood face language issues,” said Regina. “If you are not clear with the language, they are not interested in casting you. It’s not the same in the South.”

Regina also revealed that being based in Mumbai and attending meetings is crucial for gaining opportunities, despite not enjoying it.

“When I decided to work in Hindi films, I had to relocate to Mumbai and attend meetings. Although I don’t enjoy it much, it is essential. I have a team that helps me with opportunities, and I only focus on the auditions.”

She compared the competition in Bollywood to be far fiercer than other film industries.

Regina is currently working on the Hindi projects “Jaat” and “Section 108”, with “Jaat” being directed by Gopi Chand Malineni. She is also actively pursuing her career in the South Indian film industry with upcoming projects like “Vidamuyarchi” and “Flashback”.

While her recent film “Utsavam” received mixed responses, Regina continues to impress audiences with diverse roles.
