Fri Nov 01 15:42:44 UTC 2024: ## PM Modi Slams Congress for “Financially Impossible” Promises, Highlights Development Slumps in Congress-Ruled States

**New Delhi:** In a scathing attack on the Congress party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the opposition party of making false promises that they knew they couldn’t fulfill. He specifically targeted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent statement about financially possible promises, calling it a blatant exposure of their political strategy.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi stated, “The Congress Party is realizing that making false promises is easy, but implementing them is difficult or impossible. They constantly run campaigns and make promises, knowing they won’t deliver. Now, they are exposed before the people.”

PM Modi further criticized the Congress’s governance in its ruled states, highlighting the declining development pace and fiscal situation in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana. He accused the Congress of failing to deliver on their “guarantees,” labeling it a betrayal of the people. “The poor, youth, farmers, and women are the victims of this politics. They are not only deprived of the benefits promised but also face weakening of existing schemes,” he added.

He went on to cite specific examples of Congress failures in each state: In Karnataka, the party is more focused on internal politics and loot than development and is even retracting existing schemes. In Himachal Pradesh, government employees are facing salary delays. In Telangana, farmers are waiting for promised loan waivers.

“The Congress’s track record in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, where promised allowances have been delayed for five years, further demonstrates their modus operandi,” PM Modi said, urging the public to be wary of the “Congress-sponsored culture of false promises.”

He also pointed to the recent Haryana elections, where the people rejected the Congress’s “lies” and opted for a stable, action-oriented government. “Across India, the realization is growing that voting for Congress means voting for misgovernance, a poor economy, and rampant loot. India wants development and progress, not the same old ways,” he concluded.
