**Bangalore, Karnataka:** Kannada superstar Darshan has been granted temporary bail by the Karnataka High Court for medical treatment. The actor, currently in judicial custody for the murder of his fan, Renukaswamy, was granted bail for six weeks by Justice S. Vishwajit Shetty.
Darshan’s legal team had filed a bail petition citing the need for back surgery. The court, after hearing the arguments, granted bail under strict conditions. The actor has been ordered to surrender his passport and undergo treatment within seven days at a hospital of his choice.
Darshan and his co-accused, Pavithra Gowda, were arrested on June 11th in connection with Renukaswamy’s murder. While the actor’s bail plea was initially rejected in September, the court reconsidered his request based on his medical condition.
It is expected that Darshan will return to prison after his surgery, which is scheduled to take place after Diwali.
