**LONDON -** Liverpool manager Arne Slot has urged caution regarding title aspirations after a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Despite a blistering start to the season, Slot believes it’s too early to assess the team’s potential for a Premier League crown.
The draw, which saw Liverpool come back from behind twice, was their first dropped points after a remarkable run of 10 wins in their first 11 games across all competitions. Mohamed Salah’s late equalizer propelled them into second place, just a point behind reigning champions Manchester City.
“The only thing I look at is: can you get a result in a difficult away game like this one?” Slot said. “The way we did it pleased me a lot… to see that we can compete with such a strong Arsenal team in their stadium, that is very pleasing to see. But where that exactly will lead towards the end of the season, I cannot tell you yet.”
Slot was particularly pleased with Liverpool’s resilience, highlighting their ability to come back from two goals down against a formidable Arsenal side. “Going two times behind against a very strong and good Arsenal team, then to get a point is pleasing to see, especially because we had to play an away game in Europe this week, we had one day less to recover and to prepare,” he added.
Last season, Liverpool stayed in the title race with Manchester City and Arsenal until the very end, only to fall short ultimately. This season, however, their promising form has reignited hope of a serious title challenge as they aim for their second Premier League trophy.
Liverpool will next face Brighton in both the EFL Cup and Premier League, with the matches taking place on October 30 and November 2.
