“Don’t Move,” a new Netflix thriller starring Finn Wittrock and Kelsey Asbille, promises a tense story of abduction and survival, but delivers a flat, underwhelming experience. The film follows Iris, a grief-stricken woman who attempts suicide after losing her son in a tragic hiking accident. Richard, a seemingly kind stranger, intervenes and saves her, only to later kidnap her and hold her captive in his secluded cabin.
Despite the intriguing premise, the film struggles to create genuine suspense or offer any insightful character development. Richard, the villain, remains a one-dimensional menace, lacking the psychological complexity that would make him truly terrifying. Iris, despite being the film’s central figure, feels static and underdeveloped, her grief reduced to a simplistic metaphor.
