Mon Oct 28 23:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Yankee Legend Derek Jeter to Throw First Pitch in World Series Game 3
**New York, NY** – With the New York Yankees hosting their first World Series game since 2009, the team will be welcoming back a familiar face to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Five-time World Series champion and Yankees all-time hits leader, Derek Jeter, will take the mound before Game 3 against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday at Yankee Stadium.
Jeter, a Baseball Hall of Famer who spent his entire 20-year career with the Yankees, last hoisted the World Series trophy in 2009, defeating the Philadelphia Phillies in six games. He played a pivotal role in that series, batting a stellar .407. Jeter is currently serving as an analyst for Fox’s World Series coverage alongside former teammate Alex Rodriguez and fellow baseball legends.
The pregame festivities will also feature a performance by rapper Fat Joe, who will perform a custom version of his hit tracks “New York” and “All the Way Up.” This follows the successful set by Ice Cube prior to Game 2. Leslie Odom Jr., known for his role in the musical Hamilton, will perform the national anthem.
The Dodgers currently lead the series 2-0, but the Yankees will be looking to turn the tide at home. The first pitch is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. ET.
