Sun Oct 27 12:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Matthew Perry’s Mother Speaks Out About His Death, Revealing Intimate Moments Before He Passed
In a heartbreaking interview with TODAY, Suzanne Morrison, mother of the late “Friends” star Matthew Perry, has spoken out about her son’s death almost a year after he passed away.
Morrison shared tender memories of their last conversations, describing a period just before his death where Perry seemed to have a premonition. “He went through a period… when he was showing me one of his new houses,” she said. “He came up to me and he said, ‘I love you so much, and I’m so happy to be with you now. And I’m so…’ It was almost as though it was a premonition or something.”
Despite his struggles, Morrison recalled that Perry had found peace in his final days. “There was an inevitability to what was going to happen next to him, and he felt it very strongly,” she said. “But he said, ‘I’m not frightened anymore,’ and it worried me.”
Perry was found dead in his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. His death was ruled an accidental drowning due to the effects of ketamine, which had been prescribed for mental health treatment. The autopsy report also revealed that Perry had underlying coronary artery disease, which exacerbated the effects of the drug.
Five individuals, including Perry’s personal assistant, two doctors, and an alleged drug dealer, have been charged in connection with his death. Authorities allege that they took advantage of Perry’s addiction and provided him with ketamine unsupervised, despite knowing the risks involved.
“They knew what they were doing was wrong. They knew what they were doing was risking great danger to Mr. Perry,” said U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada. “But they did it anyways. In the end, these defendants were more interested in profiting off of Mr. Perry than caring for his well being.”
Perry’s family has stated that while they are still grieving his loss, they are thankful for law enforcement’s dedication to the case and are looking forward to seeing justice served.
