**New Delhi, October 26, 2024:** Delhi Police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old woman whose body was found buried in an abandoned area in Haryana. The accused have been identified as Sanju alias Saleem (the victim’s boyfriend), Pankaj, and Ritik.
The victim’s brother filed a missing person report on October 22, suspecting that a man she had recently befriended was involved in her disappearance. Police investigations revealed that the woman’s phone was switched off.
During questioning, Sanju and Pankaj confessed to the crime. They admitted to taking the victim in a rented car on October 21, along with her belongings, and driving towards Rohtak. They further confessed to killing her and burying her body in a four-foot-deep pit in an abandoned area in Madina, Rohtak district.
Police recovered the victim’s body from the pit, and a case has been registered. Ritik, the third accused, is still at large.
Sources in the police are investigating whether the victim was pregnant, as some family members have claimed.
The victim’s mother demanded strict action against the accused, describing her daughter as a social media influencer who made short videos for various platforms. She expressed shock at discovering that Sanju’s real name was Saleem, and she demanded justice for her daughter.
The victim’s brother-in-law revealed that Sanju had used a fake name when he befriended the woman.
