Sun Oct 27 09:02:55 UTC 2024: ## Chennai Startup Takes Eco-Friendly Water Drone to Global Stage
**Chennai, India – October 27, 2024** – Scrapify Ecotech, a Chennai-based climate tech startup, will be representing India at the Next Generation Digital Action Program 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The startup will be showcasing its innovative water drone, EcoFloater, designed to combat water pollution.
EcoFloater utilizes advanced technology to clean up oil spills, remove plastics, water hyacinth, and other pollutants from water bodies. It also features real-time water quality monitoring, providing live updates on the cleaning process and water quality.
“There are over 25 lakh water bodies in India, and 90% are extremely polluted,” said Azhagu Pandia Raja M.P, founder and CEO of Scrapify Ecotech. “We need to protect our water bodies, and that’s where EcoFloater will be of help.”
The collected waste is then processed through a software platform and sold as raw materials to recyclers and manufacturers via a bidding system, promoting circular economy practices and mitigating environmental pollution.
Scrapify Ecotech received crucial support from iTNT Hub, a government initiative in Tamil Nadu. “iTNT Hub has been instrumental in the development of EcoFloater, providing Scrapify Ecotech with a comprehensive suite of technical resources and expertise,” said Vanitha Venugopal, CEO of Tamil Nadu Technology Hub. The hub provided product development assistance, access to state-of-the-art lab facilities, and investor connections.
iTNT Hub currently supports 24 startups in various fields, including AR/VR, robotics, climate tech, and space tech.
Scrapify Ecotech’s participation in the Next Generation Digital Action Program demonstrates India’s commitment to tackling climate change through innovative technological solutions. EcoFloater’s success could provide a model for sustainable water management practices across the globe.
