Thu Oct 17 23:43:52 UTC 2024: ## Togadia and Bhagwat Reunite to Unite Hindus

**New Delhi, October 16, 2024** – In a significant development, Praveen Togadia, the firebrand right-wing leader and former VHP chief, met with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat last Sunday, marking their first encounter in six years. The two leaders have agreed to work together to “unite Hindus.”

Togadia, who founded the Antarashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) after leaving the RSS in 2018, expressed concern about the perceived fragmentation within the Hindu community. He believes that despite the success of the Ram Temple movement in uniting Hindus across caste lines, there is a need to address the growing sense of distrust towards political leaders.

“People who have contributed to the Ram Temple movement feel there is a problem regarding credibility in the political circle,” said Togadia. He stated that the RSS and AHP will work towards bringing together various organizations working for Hindus, including those providing healthcare, education, and self-defense training for women.

Togadia emphasized the importance of addressing basic needs like healthcare, education, and women’s safety to foster a united Hindu community. He further highlighted the need to protect the rights of Hindus living abroad, particularly in countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, the US, Britain, and Canada.

The meeting between Togadia and Bhagwat was described as spontaneous, stemming from their encounter at the Dasara celebrations in Nagpur on October 12. Both leaders expressed concern over the safety of Hindus in India, citing examples like the unrest in Manipur and the lack of rehabilitation for Kashmiri Hindus after the abrogation of Article 370.
