Thu Oct 17 23:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Marshall University and BridgeValley Partner to Streamline Student Transfer
**HUNTINGTON/CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ)** – Marshall University and BridgeValley Community and Technical College have announced a new partnership that will create a seamless transition for BridgeValley graduates seeking a bachelor’s degree.
The agreement allows students who earn an Associate of Applied Sciences degree at BridgeValley to transfer up to 72 credit hours towards a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree at Marshall. “This gives students the opportunity to move forward much more quickly,” said Dr. Casey Sachs, President of BridgeValley.
This new program emphasizes hands-on learning with faculty mentors and professional interactions. The Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree focuses on developing skills relevant to a range of employment sectors.
“This partnership highlights the value of collaboration in preparing students for the future,” said Dr. Sachs.
President Brad Smith of Marshall University expressed the university’s commitment to supporting students in graduating debt-free. Over the next ten years, the program aims to achieve this goal for all participants.
This agreement is part of a larger effort by Marshall University to update transfer agreements with community and technical colleges across West Virginia.
