**COLOMBO, SRI LANKA** – Sri Lanka secured a commanding victory in the second T20I against West Indies, clinching the series 2-0 with a comfortable 9-wicket win.

The West Indies struggled in their first innings, posting a paltry 162/8 in 20 overs. Rovman Powell (37 off 27) and Gudakesh Motie (32 off 15) were the only notable contributors with the bat, while Wanindu Hasaranga (4-24) and Maheesh Theekshana (3-19) starred for the hosts.

Sri Lanka’s chase was a masterclass in composure and efficiency. Kusal Mendis (68 off 50) and Kusal Perera (55 off 36) put on a dominant display, guiding Sri Lanka to their target with 12 balls to spare.

Mendis, in particular, was in scintillating form, smashing six boundaries and a massive six during his innings. He was particularly effective against Roston Chase, clearing the deep mid-wicket boundary for a towering six.

Perera also played with confidence, hitting four boundaries and a half-century of his own. The two Kusal’s ensured that Sri Lanka maintained a steady scoring rate throughout their innings.

Gudakesh Motie (4-31) was the only West Indies bowler to take multiple wickets, but his efforts were not enough to prevent a humiliating defeat.

This victory extends Sri Lanka’s dominance over West Indies in recent times, showcasing their strength and depth in the T20 format. The two teams will now face off in the final T20I on March 11th, with West Indies hoping to salvage some pride in the series.
