Thu Oct 17 05:55:50 UTC 2024: ## Manyata Tech Park Recovers Quickly After Heavy Rains, Work Resumes

**Bengaluru:** Manyata Tech Park, one of Bengaluru’s largest IT hubs, is slowly returning to normalcy after heavy rains flooded the 300-acre campus on Tuesday. The Embassy group, which operates the tech park, deployed its flood risk management plan, resulting in the clearing of floodwaters within 2-4 hours.

The group’s statement highlighted their investments in infrastructure, including a new culvert, annual desilting, raised nallah embankments, strategic stormwater sumps, and high-capacity dewatering systems. These measures ensured business continuity, despite the heavy rainfall.

Several companies located within the tech park implemented work-from-home arrangements for employees on Wednesday and Thursday, prioritizing safety amid the aftermath of the flooding. This followed the Karnataka government’s advice to IT companies to allow remote work in light of the heavy rains.

Across Bengaluru, the BBMP’s disaster management team responded to flooding in 102 homes, clearing fallen trees and addressing waterlogged areas. The Yelahanka zone experienced the heaviest rainfall, with Chowdeswari Nagar receiving 73.5 mm and Jakkur recording 65.5 mm.
