Wed Oct 16 00:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Telangana’s Southwest Monsoon Concludes, Northeast Monsoon Arrives, Bringing Yellow Alert
**Hyderabad, October 15:** The Southwest Monsoon has officially withdrawn from Telangana, while the Northeast Monsoon has made its entry, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre announced today.
This year, the Southwest Monsoon brought significant rainfall to Telangana, with significant showers reported between June and October 15th. The state recorded an average rainfall of 962 mm, exceeding the normal average of 738 mm and the previous year’s rainfall of 861 mm. July, August, and September saw above-average rainfall, with each month recording over 200 mm of rainfall.
However, a low-pressure area that formed in the Bay of Bengal has now intensified into a depression, bringing the potential for moderate rainfall in certain parts of Telangana from today until Saturday.
The Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for these districts for the next four days, indicating the possibility of heavy rainfall and urging citizens to take necessary precautions.
