Wed Oct 16 03:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Former Trump Aide Omarosa Manigault Newman Endorses Kamala Harris for President
Omarosa Manigault Newman, known for her time on “The Apprentice” and in the Trump administration, has publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president in the upcoming election. In an interview with Variety, Newman expressed her strong disapproval of former President Trump, calling his leadership a “squandered opportunity” and accusing him of choosing “the dark side.”
Newman, who worked on Trump’s 2016 campaign and served in the White House before departing in 2017, emphasized that Trump’s nickname “Teflon Don” is no longer accurate, pointing to his loss in the 2020 presidential election. She believes that Trump’s potential loss to Harris, the first Black and South Asian vice president, would be particularly devastating to his ego.
Newman sees a Harris victory as a “significant milestone” for her personally and a “tremendous, seismic movement” for young Black girls and boys, who would be inspired by seeing a woman of color become the first female president. She believes that Harris is the leader the nation needs and expressed her confidence in her ability to win the upcoming election.
