Tue Oct 15 22:16:43 UTC 2024: ## Multiple Bomb Threats Ground Indian Flights, Confirmed as Hoaxes
**New Delhi, India** – A series of bomb threats targeting seven Indian flights on Tuesday resulted in two emergency landings, causing widespread disruption and raising security concerns. The threats, made through an X account, targeted flights operated by Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, and Alliance Air.
The flights affected included:
* **Air India:** Delhi-Chicago
* **Air India Express:** Jaipur-Bengaluru, Madurai-Singapore
* **IndiGo:** Dammam-Lucknow
* **SpiceJet:** Darbhanga-Mumbai
* **Akasa Air:** Siliguri-Bengaluru
* **Alliance Air:** Amritsar-Dehradun-Delhi
Following the threats, security agencies conducted precautionary checks on all affected flights, with the Delhi-Chicago Air India flight diverting to Canada and the Jaipur-Bengaluru Air India Express flight landing at Ayodhya Airport for inspection. While the SpiceJet and Akasa Air flights landed safely after necessary precautions, the IndiGo flight from Saudi Arabia made an emergency landing in Jaipur.
Fortunately, all threats were later confirmed to be hoaxes. This comes after a similar incident on Monday where three international flights departing from Mumbai received bomb threats, also later found to be false.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is collaborating with cybersecurity agencies and police to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for these threats. The recent incidents highlight the ongoing challenge of dealing with security threats in the aviation industry, emphasizing the need for robust security measures and swift investigations.
