Chennai, India – A low-pressure system currently located in the Bay of Bengal, about 440 km southeast of Chennai, is bringing light to moderate rain to several districts in Tamil Nadu, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has issued a weather forecast predicting rain in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, and Theni districts until 10 am today.
Light rain has already begun falling in various parts of Chennai, including Kindi, Ezhumbur, Purusaiwalkam, Mambalam, Saidapet, and Velachery. Rain is also reported in suburban areas.
