**New Delhi:** The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the dates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The ECI also announced the dates for by-elections in 48 Assembly constituencies and 2 Lok Sabha seats across 14 states. Voting for the Lok Sabha bypolls will take place on November 13th in Wayanad (Kerala) and November 20th in Nanded (Maharashtra). The Assembly bypolls will be held on November 13th in 47 seats and November 20th in Kedarnath (Uttarakhand). The results for all these by-elections will also be declared on November 23rd.
In Maharashtra, the incumbent government is a coalition of Shiv Sena, BJP, and the NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar. The election will be a challenging one for all parties, with a fragmented political landscape and anti-incumbency sentiment at play. In Jharkhand, the ruling Mahagatbandhan government is led by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in alliance with Congress, RJD, and the Left parties. The BJP will be focusing its efforts on the Santhal Pargana and Kolhan regions, which hold 32 seats.
