The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The state will go to the polls in a single phase on **November 20th, 2024**. The counting of votes will be held on **November 23rd, 2024**.

The model code of conduct came into effect immediately, with the last date for filing nominations set for **October 29th**. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on **October 30th**, while the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is **November 4th**.

Maharashtra has a total of 288 assembly constituencies with a total electorate of 9.63 crore, including 4.46 crore female voters and 4.97 crore male voters. There are 1.85 crore young voters and 20.93 lakh first-time voters.

The Election Commission has set up 1 lakh 186 polling stations across the state. Citizens above 85 years of age will be provided with the facility to vote from home. The commission has assured strict vigilance against the use of money, liquor, and drugs during the election process.

With the current Assembly term ending on **November 26th, 2024**, the entire election process is expected to be completed by **November 25th**.
