**Ranchi, October 4, 2024:** The Jharkhand Assembly Election is gaining momentum with the Jharkhand Loktantrik Morcha (JLKM) announcing 14 candidates for the upcoming polls. JLKM supremo Jayaram Mahto, who earlier announced his candidacy from Dumri, unveiled the list at a press conference, confirming his party’s independent stance in the election.

“We will not be part of any alliance, neither the NDA nor the INDIA alliance,” Mahto declared, adding that both coalitions had approached him for a partnership.

The list includes notable figures like Guna Bhagat from Mandar, Motilal Mahto from Tundi, and Rajdesh Ratan from Dhanwar. Mahto also confirmed that Manoj Yadav will contest from Kodarma, Krishna Yadav from Barhi, Mahendra Mandal from Barkattha, Uday Mehta from Hazaribagh, Aniket Mehta from Daltonganj, Parimal Thakur from Godda, Akil Akhtar from Gandey, Sapan Kumar Modak from Dhanbad, Pandu Ram Hibru from Kharsawan, Usha Devi from Sindri, and Saroj Kumari from Bokaro.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India is expected to announce the election schedule today, with voting likely to take place in 2-3 phases.

The JMM, a key player in the state politics, is expected to contest in the upcoming elections, marking a significant development in the political landscape of Jharkhand.
