The New York Jets suffered a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London on Sunday, but quarterback Aaron Rodgers put on a show. The veteran signal-caller threw for two touchdowns, including a 15-yard strike to Allen Lazard, and became the ninth player in NFL history to surpass 60,000 career passing yards.
Rodgers connected with receiver Garrett Wilson for a number of big plays, including a 21-yard reception where Wilson displayed impressive toe-tapping skills to stay inbounds. Wilson finished the game with 13 receptions for 101 yards.
The Jets’ defense showed flashes of brilliance, with Leonard Taylor III recording his first career sack and the team sacking Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold four times. Defensive back Sauce Gardner made a diving interception, showcasing his athleticism.
Despite Rodgers’ efforts, the Jets couldn’t overcome a strong Vikings performance. The game featured a number of key plays, including a 21-yard gain by running back Breece Hall on a short pass, a 34-yard field goal by kicker Greg Zuerlein, and a highlight-reel fumble recovery by linebacker Quincy Williams.
The Jets will look to rebound next week as they return to MetLife Stadium to face the Denver Broncos.
