Coimbatore city experienced heavy rainfall on [Date] due to the northeast monsoon and a low-pressure area, as predicted by the weather department. While suburban areas experienced rainfall earlier in the day, the city center, including Gandhi Puram, Ukkadam Railway Station, and the Collectorate, faced heavy downpours in the afternoon. This resulted in waterlogging in various parts of the city, causing inconvenience to residents and motorists.

A private bus carrying 35 passengers, including children, got stuck in floodwaters near the railway bridge on the road leading to Sai Baba Colony and Sivanantha Colony. Firefighters reached the spot promptly and rescued all passengers from the bus before using a JCB to pull the bus out of the water.
