**Vikarabad, October 15, 2024:** Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh jointly inaugurated the construction of the largest radar station in India, located in the Poodur Mandal of Vikarabad district. This significant project is being undertaken by the Indian Navy.
Speaking at the event, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized Telangana’s crucial role in safeguarding the nation. He reiterated that the state will work closely with the central government to ensure the state’s progress, transcending political differences. He highlighted Hyderabad’s strategic importance in national defense and underlined the vital role of the VLFF (Very Low Frequency) facility in protecting the coastline from potential threats.
Addressing concerns regarding the potential risks of the radar station, CM Reddy reassured the public, highlighting the successful operation of a similar facility in Tamil Nadu for over three decades without any incidents. He urged citizens not to succumb to misinformation and reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to national security.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the initiative and underscored the significance of the radar station in strengthening India’s maritime security. He also praised the collaborative efforts of the state and central governments in ensuring the project’s timely completion.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, Telangana Minister Konda Surekha, MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy. The event saw the groundbreaking ceremony for the radar station, marking the commencement of the construction phase.
