Tue Oct 15 11:42:21 UTC 2024: ## Socceroos Make Six Changes for Japan Clash, Facing Late Bus Delay

**Saitama, Japan:** The Australian national team, the Socceroos, have made six changes to their starting lineup for their crucial World Cup qualifier against Japan on Tuesday night. The game, which is a battle for top spot in Group B, sees the return of veteran Luke Brattan, who will make his Socceroos debut in the midfield.

The changes also include the benching of Craig Goodwin, who scored and assisted in last week’s 3-1 victory over China. In his place, Riley McGree and Ajdin Hrustic will take the field, forming a dynamic attacking duo.

The Socceroos have also made significant alterations to their defense, opting for a back three formation. Jason Geria and Cameron Burgess will flank Harry Souttar, while Jordy Bos replaces Aziz Behich at left wing-back. Lewis Miller completes the backline on the right side.

The team faced a late hiccup, with their bus arriving at Saitama Stadium only 45 minutes before kickoff after being caught in traffic due to an accident.

Despite the changes and the late arrival, the Socceroos are determined to claim their first-ever win over Japan on Japanese soil. Their last victory over the Samurai Blue came in 2009, a 2-1 win in Melbourne.

Japan has also made two changes to their lineup, bringing in Ao Tanaka and Takefusa Kubo for Wataru Endo and Daichi Kamada.

The match promises to be a thrilling encounter as both teams look to secure their spot at the top of the group.
