Tue Oct 15 10:40:36 UTC 2024: ## Assembly Elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, Bypolls in Kerala and Wayanad Announced
**New Delhi:** The Election Commission of India has announced Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The elections in Jharkhand, for 81 seats, will be held in two phases on November 13th and 20th. The Maharashtra election, for 288 constituencies, will be held in a single phase on November 20th. The counting of votes for both states will take place on November 23rd.
In addition to these, the Commission has also announced by-elections in the Palakkad and Chelakkara Assembly constituencies in Kerala and the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. These by-elections were necessitated after the Lok Sabha elections saw the winning candidates, Shafi Parambil and K. Radhakrishnan from Kerala and Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad, respectively, relinquish their Assembly seats. The Wayanad by-election will be held on November 13th, along with the by-elections in Kerala. The counting of votes for all these by-elections will also be held on November 23rd.
