**Hyderabad, [Date]**: Telangana Chief Minister, K. Revanth Reddy, has asserted that the state government will not compromise on national security and highlighted the strategic importance of Hyderabad for defense organizations. He made these statements while participating in the foundation stone laying ceremony of a Navy radar station in Damagundam, Vikarabad district.
CM Reddy described the project as a significant milestone for Telangana, emphasizing that Hyderabad serves as a safe haven for defense establishments. He refuted claims of any potential harm from the radar station, citing the presence of a similar station in Tamil Nadu for 34 years without any adverse effects. He urged the people of Telangana to recognize the project’s importance in safeguarding the nation.
“We have granted permissions for this project because we believe in not compromising on national security,” stated CM Reddy. He further condemned politicization of national security projects and urged political figures to prioritize the country’s well-being. He assured full government support in the construction of the radar station.
The event saw the participation of Union Minister Rajnath Singh, who performed the groundbreaking ceremony. Other prominent attendees included Speaker Gaddam Prasad, Union Ministers Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy, and several state ministers.
The new Very Low Frequency (VLF) Navy radar station in Damagundam is expected to strengthen India’s defense capabilities in the region. However, the project faced opposition from some quarters, who raised environmental concerns. CM Reddy’s strong defense of the project signals the government’s commitment to national security and its willingness to address concerns surrounding such projects.
